AngelEye: underwater drowning detection
A camera and software system that supports lifeguards by detecting possible drowning situations under water in real time.
How it works
A network of underwater cameras along the pool walls monitors movement below the surface. Analysis software distinguishes normal swimming from signs of distress and alerts lifeguards immediately on wearable or portable devices, reducing response times. AngelEye supports supervision; it does not replace lifeguards.
In practice
AngelEye works with Myrtha and RenovAction pools. The renovated competition pool in Saint-Servais, Namur, is monitored by twelve underwater cameras. AngelEye is supplied through Myrtha as a partner product.
With EWAC Pools
EWAC Pools is the authorised Myrtha dealer for the BeNeLux. We advise on the right configuration, coordinate it with your design team and Myrtha’s engineers, install it on site and provide after-sales, service and maintenance.
Innovative technologies
More Myrtha technologies
Myrtha Breathe
Myrtha Breathe captures volatile disinfection by-products such as trichloramine in the overflow gutter, before they spread through the pool hall.
Myrtha White
The white pigmentation of the Myrtha coating helps reduce bacterial growth on surfaces in contact with water, without chemical additives.
Strahlenturbulenz
A circulation system with wall-only water inlets and adjustable nozzles, validated with CFD analysis. No piping in the pool floor.
