About EWAC Pools
EWAC Pools is not a new company. It is the next step in a path that started with stainless steel engineering, more than thirty years ago.
Our story
From stainless steel engineering to swimming pools
EWAC was founded in 1988 by Frans Legdeur as a family business, and was registered as a B.V. in 1989. His son Eric took over in 2005; the company is now run by the second generation. We began as engineers: we contributed components to nuclear power plants, worked on agricultural machinery and developed subsystems for superyachts. What connected these worlds was stainless steel: how to engineer it, weld it and build structures from it that last.
That expertise brought us to water. EWAC Medical has built hydrotherapy pools and movable floors since the late 1980s and has delivered more than 1,000 projects worldwide. In 2019 we moved to a new building in Heerhugowaard with a larger workshop and offices, where around 20 people work today, including four engineers.
EWAC Pools is the same movement, one step further. The stainless steel pool, combined with Myrtha technology, belongs in sports facilities, public pools, hotels and holiday parks: wherever a pool has to be built well, quickly and for the long term.
How we work
Three principles guide every project

Knowledge.
We advise on the basis of years of experience with water, stainless steel and construction. Knowledge also means saying no in time when an assumption is wrong or a wish is technically unwise, in consultation with Myrtha. We take the time to explain, and support every claim with technical data, figures or a reference.

Craftsmanship.
The proof of our work is physical. Every pool is built to measure and installed and finished on site. Craftsmanship lies in the assembly, the dimensional accuracy and the finish: in details that only show after years, or never become a problem at all.

Innovation in the technique.
We question assumptions when something can demonstrably be done better. Stainless steel with a PVC membrane is lighter, faster to build and can be renovated without demolition. The innovation is in what we propose, not in how we talk about it.
Partnership
Authorised Myrtha dealer for the BeNeLux
EWAC Pools is the authorised dealer of Myrtha Pools in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. The roles are clear: Myrtha, founded in 1961 in Italy, designs the product, carries out the product engineering and manufactures the components. EWAC Pools leads the project locally.
We advise and sell, coordinate the design with you and your architect, install and finish the pool on site, and provide after-sales, service and maintenance. For our clients that means Myrtha’s international experience, with a Dutch-speaking team close by.
The team
Eric Legdeur, Director
Director and owner of EWAC B.V. and EWAC Pools B.V., with more than 20 years of experience in swimming pool technology and hydrotherapy. As the driving force behind EWAC Medical, Eric built international experience with movable floors and specialised pools. He knows how a pool has to perform, not only structurally but also in daily operation and maintenance.
Joep de Graaf, Head of Sales
Joep has built his career at EWAC, starting with his graduation internship more than twelve years ago. He translates technical complexity into clear, realistic proposals and guides projects through long, often tender-driven decision processes with municipalities, architects and consultants.
Tim Groen, Head of Operations
A mechanical engineer with more than nine years at EWAC, starting as service and maintenance coordinator. Tim is responsible for engineering coordination, project execution and operational quality, and combines precision with practical experience in the field.
Teun de Graaf, Marketing Manager
Teun is responsible for positioning and brand development of EWAC Pools in the BeNeLux, working closely with the sales team. Before EWAC he worked at ABN AMRO, and within EWAC Medical he built international experience with hydrotherapy projects.
